Lincolnshire Showground are expanding their Events & Marketing team with the help of the the excellent courses in Events, Marketing & Drama at the University of Lincoln.

The Lincolnshire Agricultural Society has recently expanded its staff team with the addition of three University of Lincoln graduates. Paris Pratley-Gomez, Lauren Richardson and Chris Usher have all spent three years studying at the University under Events Management, Drama and Advertising & Marketing respectively.

Born and bred in Lincoln, Paris Pratley-Gomez studied BSC Events Management for three years whilst working at a local garden centre as an Events Coordinator to gain and further her experience, as well as working at Waitrose Lincoln for four and a half years. Shortly before finishing her studies, Paris began working full time at the Showground. Paris’ passion for events has seen her organise two charity music nights with local bands at a leisure centre and has even worked on tour with Ed Sheeran! Working as a Sales Executive at the Lincolnshire Showground has furthered her experience and understanding in coordinating and running a wide variety of events. “We have such a diverse range of events and conferences here at the Lincolnshire Showground, every day is different! Our annual events such as the Food and Gift Fair enables us to use the experience in planning and organising these events in our support to help market and promote clients events.”

Having similarly studied Advertising & Marketing at Lincoln, Chris Usher joined the Lincolnshire Showground Marketing department in May 2015 as Communications Officer. Prior to joining the Showground, Chris had worked for a business management consultancy company in Hull after graduating in September 2014. Working at the Lincolnshire Showground has increased Chris’ passion for Marketing & Communications and has developed his experience across a wide range of events. “We work really hard to effectively market the internal events such as the Lincolnshire Show and the Lincolnshire Farming conference which take place annually here at the Showground, it’s been really helpful to draw on my experience gained through study at the University of Lincoln and use the tools and skills picked up during this time” said Chris.

Lauren Richardson joined the Showground team as a Sales Executive last year and has gained extensive experience in planning and coordinating in-house and external events during this time. Studying Drama at University, Lauren has experience of managing teams of people and events whilst at University and this has helped her to creatively engage with event organisers when planning full site or smaller events. Lauren comments “We offer a diverse range of events here at The Lincolnshire Showground ranging from conferences in our eco-friendly Epic centre, to full site events such as the Harley Davidson Super Rally event we hosted back in May this year. Being such a versatile venue enables us to offer the 200 acre site to an eclectic mix of events, meaning we see something different at the Showground every day. Not one day is the same here!”

The events team at Lincolnshire Showground work very closely with event and conference organisers to ensure that they are able maximise the space available to them within the facilities that we have on offer here. Our environmental credentials mean that they can offer an attractive space which is energy efficient and ideally placed within the Lincolnshire countryside and just a stone’s throw from the city of Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Showground is one of the largest event venue spaces in the county, with flexible rooms to cater from 20 to 1,200 guests.
